Georgia O'Keefe

This is Mimi speaking. John wrote his piece on our visit to her home in Abiquiu and his reaction to the restrictions. The reason for no pictures was presented to us as to protect the original works of art that are still in the house. For me, experiencing the home without the distraction of photography was part of the journey. Georgia O'Keeffe was a brilliant artist who managed to capture the grandeur of the world, not by just copying it in her art but by interpreting it. Her art transcends the natural and communicates the depth of beauty in a way a mere picture never could. It felt reverent to me and many others who have visited this spiritual place.
